Insomniac

Insomniac.

I'm sending a Hand written Letter
to My gentle friend the moon,

Hoping that with a please
she will willingly ease
my eyes to slumber soon

The sun had his share of hours
to shine his brilliant light,

So how could it be
that somehow with me,
my brain wants day during night?

Explanation: Cute and simple little poem about making humor out of having trouble sleeping. I seem to have insomniac tendencies, and in boredom I wrote this.

Hopefully I will get some shut eye tonight seeing as I'm completely exhausted.

goodnight,

Paige

Trying to be Healthy Sucks sometimes.

Special Cups
A mug is made just for hot coffee,
A tea cup is special for tea,
but the "founding father"
for both drinks is water
So what would a water cup be?

Explanation:
I made a limerick! I feel like a winner and a loser at the same time.
I'm trying to get my daily requirement of water every day at it is a pain in the arsenal. I also collect mugs... I don't remember how that started but oh well.

That House Episode about the PsychoPath...

Psycho Path

When sad their lips curve downward
And are comforted in their woe
If I want to gain attention
I will imitate just so

They lie when they’re too weak
To oppose what’s seen as ‘right’
But I know what I want and so
I can easily lie for spite

None of them will admit aloud
Their drive is self absorption
When I get right down to the point
They, then call it mental distortion

Explanation:
(In an episode for House I saw on Hulu.com there was a patient about a psychopath and when I learned what that really meant it freaked me out and excited me at the same time; I have been talking about it with friends pretty much all day…Got crazies on the brain.)

I will hopefully get better (and less weird) as this goes on... have patience.

Good night,

Paige

So how does this work?

Okay, so other than this post where I need to explain myself...
everything will be in poetry.

Everyday I will write poem about the course of my day, a memorable part of my life, a random pointless thought that ran through my mind...etc.

Another part of this challenge is to create poetry using random words sent to me.
Example:

Kathy's Given words;
1.) Cradle
2.) Moon
3.) Tower
4.) regret
5.) completion
6.) mirror
7.) lips

Kathy (who is an imaginary person I made for this example) gives me the random words and then I am challenged to create a poem that puts these words together in a collective (and legible) manner.

I will see how long I can accomplish this... hopefully I will develop creative skills and get some good literary art out of the deal. Wish me luck,

-Paige

What is the poetry Game?

the goal I have set may just make me insane
but I'm willing to give it a try
I am hoping this isn't created in vain
Though if this fails, I'm sure I won't die

The poetry game can go one of two ways
I will put either form to the test
people who read this will be sending what to say
or my life stories will fill in the rest

The rules of the game are easily explained
there's not much that needs to be said
I craft in a poem what my day has contained
Or I create from words you send instead

I hope this mind bender will spread over time
It is challenging, but lots of fun
Even if you don't think you can make verse or rhyme;
Let the doubts that have wound you come undone.
